The Anaheim Ducks have traded James Wisniewski to the New York Islanders for a third-round pick.
Analysis:
The Ducks had signed Wisniewski to a one-year, $3.25 million contract earlier in the day, effectively making this a sign-and-trade. Wiz should easily slot into the top-4 of the Isles’ defensive corps, as he averaged 24 minutes of icetime last season with the Ducks. Meanwhile, by making the trade, the Ducks may be expecting first-round pick Cam Fowler to make the team this season.
