Are you participating in a fantasy hockey playoff league this year? If not, then you should be. The fine folks over at www.fantasypostseason.com have set up some playoff fantasy hockey, along with other notable postseason sports. Just like regular season leagues, you can participate in a live draft, complete add and drop transactions, and even play in either H2H or roto format.
On Sunday night, immediately following the final game of the season between the Stars and Wild, six participants in the fantasyhockey.com league this season participated in a playoff league draft. Two participants were on autopick because they could not attend (which may explain some of the high picks made), but this draft list should give you an idea of how you can set your rankings when you complete your playoff draft.
Settings are as follows:
F(5), D(3), F/D(2), G(1), H2H league
20 waiver-wire transactions allowed
2 points/goal, 1 point/assist, 0.1 point/shot on goal, -0.1 point/penalty minute, 0.5 points/ +/-, 5.0 points/hat trick, 0.1 points/save, -1.0 point/goal allowed, 4.0 points/win, -1.0 point/loss, 5.0 points/shutout
Here are the results. By the way, the autopick selected Crosby second overall for Garrett, who was kicked off his computer temporarily (the actual live draft results verify this). He likes Crosby as a player, but he admits that he wouldn’t have drafted him that high. Feel free to voice your opinions below on the selections made.

[...] The Goods: Postseason Draft Results Ian Gooding 04/10/2011 [...]
My experience with three live drafts this year is that if you don’t get a goalie with your first pick, you will have slim pickings in round two, and only lower-rated backups by round three. The last draft I was in last night had seven goalies taken in the first ten picks.
We had only six participants for our draft with only one goalie per team, so we could definitely wait on picking up a goalie. But if your league has two goalie positions and/or ten or more participants, you lose if you snooze.
Yeah, I really wish Crosby hadn’t have been autopicked for me. I wanted a goalie in round one.
