Alex Ovechkin, J.S. Giguere, and Nicklas Backstrom have been named the NHL’s Three Stars for the past week.

Analysis:

No surprise that Ovechkin and Backstrom were named, but Giguere is suddenly a hot waiver-wire commodity after back-to-back shutouts with his new team.
