Burmistrov Could Make Team

Thrashers GM Rick Dudley said that first-round pick Alexander Burmistrov could earn a spot on the Thrashers this season.

Analysis:

First-round picks Evander Kane and Zach Bogosian have made the squad in each of the last two seasons, so it’s entirely possible that the eighth overall pick in the recent entry draft could make the team. Burmistrov scored at a point-per-game pace in the OHL last season, but he may need to put on more size to compete at the NHL level.
