Dany Heatley scored a goal and an assist in Team Canada’s 5-4 overtime loss to Russia in the IIHF World Hockey Championship gold medal game on Sunday.
Heatley was named the MVP in the tournament after he led all scorers in the tournament with 12 goals and 8 assists. Heatley’s 20 points tied him with Steve Yzerman for most points in a single tournament, and his 12 goals surpassed Eric Lindros for most goals by a Canadian in a single tournament. With 82 points (41g-41a) and a +33 in 71 games last season, Heatley should once again be a first-round pick in fantasy drafts next season.
